Please make sure to fuel up and grab essentials before meeting at the Transit Center
This year’s Color Cruise circles the Flat Tops Wilderness area, part of the White River Plateau and second largest wilderness area in the state at 235,214 acres. The Flat Tops have long an temultuous past beyond the violent geological processes that created them. Home to the Ute tribe, focal point for sheep wars over crazing rights, inspiration behind the current Wilderness Act, and now often the headwaters of debate when considering free flowing rivers and the practice of daming, this area is unique. Speckled with alpine lakes and with the majority of trails being above 12,000ft, this year the Color Cruise is just a preview of what can be found beyond the end of the road.

Not this year. Due to CDW shifting the hunting seasons, we will be in dispersed camping. Embrace your inner broverlander and plan on camping with only the amenities you bring.
